How do you look for inner peace? I ask this because I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about marriage, a lady called in and made a comment that resinated with me, “If you aren’t happy with being single, then you will never be happy in marriage.” I sat back and found that to be very profound.
I can say I’m used to being single, do I hate it? At times. Do I wish I had someone special in my life? At times. Do I want to be married? Uh…… I can’t really answer that one. I go back and forth with the idea of being married, and spending my life with someone that does not come with a return policy.
I’ve realized that in order for you to have a life, a real meaningful life you need to find something to believe in. I believe in God, his son Jesus, but at the same time I believe in myself even though I totally hold doubt in my heart for certain areas of my life. How do you find your inner peace? I think it comes in different forms for everyone, do what works best for you and your heart.
Listening to that discussion reminded me that I am pretty happy with my life, yes I face issues on a daily basis, I am dealing with my depression and anxiety on a daily basis, but I still push forward. When it comes to me finding me peace as a single person, it really is simple for me. I’m reading my Bible, listening to great music, watching T.V., spending time with family and friends. It helps pass the time of feeling like a “single person” I want to be able feel healed inside my heart and soul before I take the next step of life with someone else. Each of us have issues that we have to deal with on a daily basis, but it is up to us to let them go.
How do you find your peace? Are you capable of it? Have you even given yourself a chance to find it? Are you happy with your single life? Are you happy in your relationship life? What about your married life? These are questions you need to ask yourself before you make any changes or steps in your life because in the end everything comes back to bite us in the butt. It always happens, not sure about the rest of you. I just deal with my Karma a little differently, I pray about it and lay it at God’s feet.
What about you?
